And more
Case Study 1: The Hilltop Hoods
Beat Broker was hired to promote the Hilltop Hoods album “The Calling”. Previous releases by the Hoods had sold a few thousand copies and after almost ten years of touring it was time to take it up a notch.
Triple J jumped on the new single as soon as we handed it over and listeners responded to “Dumb Enough” immediately. And when we gave the Js the second single, “Nosebleed Section”, things really started to heat up.
The track was voted in at no.9 on Triple J’s hottest 100 for the year and soon after that commercial radio jumped on board. In six short months, the Hoods went from being a crew from the back blocks of Adelaide to the hottest hip hop group in the country.
For the next year and a half we worked with the Hoods, building their profile by targeting larger and larger media for interviews surrounding their touring and eventually “The Calling” DVD release. The rest is history.
Case Study 2: The Potbelleez
Beat Broker was brought in to help The Potbelleez get the maximum media exposure for their debut release “In The Junkyard” EP release and national tour.
Beat Broker secured all interview exposure surrounding the tour and EP over a 3 month period, cementing them on the Australian music map. We also wrote the artist biography used for a year after the release.
Not only did their rising profile play a part in them achieving a shortlist ARIA nomination but it kick started the buzz surrounding the band. The Potbelleez have gone on to achieve a massive profile as one of Australia’s hottest new dance acts. They were not only chosen to provide all of the music for “Big Brother 07” but their single “Don’t Hold Back” soared up the ARIA singles charts and has recently gone Platinum.
With all this success, it’s not surprising the band recently asked Beat Broker to write their new biography for taking on the globe.
What People Are Saying About Us
“Beat Broker is our marketing, advertising and promotion departments all rolled into one. I cannot recommend their services highly enough”. Stewart Hanna, DMC Australia
“Beat Broker is one of the most efficient, organised, and motivated publicity companies we have had the pleasure to work with. Their reporting and attention to detail is excellent”. David Vodicka, Rubber Records
“Beatbroker is without a shadow of a doubt the best PR Company I have worked with in my 12 years in the music industry”. Meat Katie, Lot49
“Beat Broker are on time and on point. I'd recommend them to anyone wanting to get their release out in the public eye and ear”! Caz Worsley, Shock Records
“Beat Broker handled 2 campaigns for us in 2007 and both achieved the results we were after. We deal in general release music outside the mainstream pop market and the publicity company needs a good understanding of the music. Beat Broker understood the culture of both releases and where they should be targeted for best results. They also covered both the high level and the grass roots stuff in all possible media - which is rare”. Glenn Wright, Vitamin Records
“I first worked with Beat Broker in 2004 when they came on board to handle the publicity for Nubreed's “The Original” album through Vicious. Since then they have handled the PR for a number of my projects including releases by Stewart and Melville, Dirty South, Mind Electric and tours by The Potbelleez and True Live. Not only are they great to deal with, but they are quick to act when it is required and most importantly achieve a massive amount of media exposure across a broad range of avenues”. Colin Daniels, Inertia
“After many years searching for a viable PR solution for my record label, Beat Broker have delivered above all others. Diligence and persistence are the key to good PR and Beat Broker fully understand this concept”. Leigh Wood, One World Music
