Artist : Dreamcatcher feat. Jesso Track: Unframed Label: American Girl Recordings
First bursting their way into our sound systems in the early naughties with ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose My Way’ and ‘Twisted’, UK dance/trance duo Dreamcatcher are back with their latest smash hit ‘Unframed’. This time they’ve teamed up with Australian songstress Jesso to create a certified summer hit!
Dreamcatcher aka Paul Castle and Simon Langford have more than proved their prowess in the studio, having released tunes and remixes on the likes of Positiva, Kosmo Records and Fingerlickin’, and licensed their music to a long list of compilations released around the world. When not working as one half of for Dreamcatcher, Simon Langford also makes up one third of powerhouse remixers Soul Seekers who have remixed for artists like Estelle, Craig David, Amy Winehouse and Bassment Jaxx, to name a few. Dreamcatcher’s breakthrough tracks, the dance floor monsters ‘I Don’t Wanna Lose My Way’ and ‘Twisted’, were front of box favourites of many of the world’s most recognised DJs which helped them to climb into ‘Top 20’ positions in the UK charts (‘I Don’t Wanna Lose My Way’ went as high as #12).
Fast forward to late 2009 and the ‘hands in the air’ trance anthem ‘Unframed’ is making its presence felt as it storms up the UK club charts. Just in the past week it has jumped a huge six positions up to #24 – and it’s no surprise with DJs loving the hefty remix package provided by The Lip Junkies. London DJ’s have given the track an average club score of 8/10 with the Dreamcatcher Club Mix being the most popular.
A powerful song about heartbreak and love lost, the massive vocals in ‘Unframed’, courtesy of Jesso aka Jess Day, show why she has attracted attention and tuition from the legendary Venetta Fields who has worked with Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones, Barbara Streisand and Diana Ross.
A perfect summer big room tune to whip the dance floor into a frenzy, ‘Unframed’ has all the right ingredients to get the party started.
